What is the Difference between Christianity and Catholicism? Print
What's the Difference?

Out of the three religions we will be looking at in this teaching series, by far the greatest similarities and agreement can be found between mainstream protestant Christianity and Catholicism.  Both believe in Jesus Christ as the Son of God, and have many shared doctrines and practices.  Join us at The LifePoint on May 25th, as we examine the similarities, as well as some of the larger differences of these two religions.

A few of the questions we will be looking at:

  • Why do protestants pray to God the Father, but not to Saints?
  • Both religions partake of Holy Communion, but in very different ways.  Who is right or does it matter at all?
  • Catholicism baptizes infants, but Christians normally do not.  Why is this and does it serve an important religious purpose?
  • Protestants believe in Heaven and Hell, but Catholicism also discusses Purgatory.  What is Purgatory and does it really exist?
